Here is a quick list of applications that may help you.

Gimp 2 A free open source editor. http://www.gimp.org/

Sumo Paint: A free online editor. http://www.sumopaint.com/web/#/home/

Paint Net: A free editor with the look and feel of MS Paint. http://paint.net/

IrfanView: A free editor with many plugins. http://www.irfanview.com/

Picasa 3: A free image editor (basic edits) plus more. http://picasa.google.com/

Exiftool: A free metadata reader/writer/editor. http://www.sno.phy.queensu.ca/~phil/exiftool/

PhotoME: A free metadata reader/editor. http://www.photome.de

Image Resizer: Picking up where the Powertoy Imageresizer for Windows XP left off! http://imageresizer.codeplex.com/

There are many more alternatives.

*Note: At the time the applications are linked here, they are free, and that means free with no adware, malware, etc. etc. You get just the application and no "extras". This can change at anytime, and when I find that the programs authors have changed (adding "extras" in) I will remove them from the list.

*On another note: If you like the applications, then please donate. This supports the author, and prevents the need to monetize the distribution (you know, add in toolbars, malware, etc. etc.).
